Captain Allison Jakes

Back to fully painted for Cygnar, again! No idea how soon I'll get to play her given all my life/work chaos, but hey, she's done! I really like what a great job they did of taking her from journeyman to full warcaster in this sculpt. Still has the look and feel of a female swordsman, but gives her more bulk to emphasize her higher power and status. Great job again PP!

Gun Mage Riflemen

Since they were FA:2, I decided to get 2 at L&L. I'm stoked to have these ready for play well before their official release date. So very stoked. As with my GMCAs, I decided having different colored models would make it easier to manage them, especially since there was no reasonable space for putting numbers on them.

Lancer (take 3)

Plastic Lancer from the Mk3 Cygnar starter box. More shock shields and arcnodes!

Ironclad (take 2)

Ironclad from the Mk3 Cygnar starter box. More hammers!

Firefly (take 3)

Firefly from the Mk3 Cygnar starter box. Nothing fancy to say except that it will be amusing to field 3 of these at once.

Major Beth Maddox

My first official Mk3 model completed! I'm pretty proud of myself for having her painted less than a week after LnL. I have to admit that I was pretty skeptical of the sculpt quality in plastic, but now that I've got her completed I really am pretty happy. The biggest issue I have is actually with the one side of her hair which just seems to have a weird edge to it. Otherwise, pretty happy with this sculpt.

Lord General Coleman Stryker

Such an awesome model! So dynamic! Really enjoyed this one. I could have let myself get lost in details. The big challenge I had with this model actually was the rock wall which didn't fit with my basing theme for Cygnar. After much consternation over what to do with it, I chopped it down in size and green stuffed it into something resembling a small wall that fit the basing theme. I do however suck at green stuff work and so it really looks like a slab of melted-then-solidified metal rather than a machined well. However keeping it did provide an important anchor for the model to the base which makes the entire thing remarkably solid. I feel compelled to get this incarnation of Stryker on the table at least once before Mk3 hits.

Trench Buster

Surprises me that he doesn't have Shield Guard given his massive shield. This model really is a brute of a model, towering over most 30mm infantry.

Gallant

Yep, Gallant to go with Blaize. Not going to get played before Mk3. Fingers crossed!

Constance Blaize, Knight of the Prophet

I wish I had more time to talk about this model. It was very different to tackle for my Cygnar army due to the style and details of the sculpt. Nevertheless, it was actually a lot of fun to paint. I could see if someone was looking for a Cygnar model to really pour a lot of time and effort into on painting, this could be a good one. I really hope she gets better in Mk3.

Stormclad (take 2)

Second Stormclad, mostly because I love this model so. I sure hope it survives the MK3 updates with the same level of awesomeness it has now.

Storm Lances

Another big project down! After getting owned by Jason Soles' cavalry last year at LnL, I'm very eager to get these on the table and start learning how to use them effectively.

The leader model is the one I'm a little concerned about given the single contact point with the base, and via a plastic horse. I'm expecting it to break, so I might go back and reinforce it a bit, even if a second pin breaks the illusion.

Captain Jeremiah Kraye

Getting closer to a complete set of Cygnar casters. Kraye is a model I actually painted once before for a friend. It was a little odd to paint him again honestly, but I am stoked to have him in my stable (pah dum bum).

Major Katherine Laddermore

Lots of pictures! Few words! Enjoyed this model! Done!

Stormguard

Nothing fancy. Quickly painted. Seriously closes out a lot of my remaining Cygnar.

Ace

This one was a really quick paint job. So much so that I decided to go crazy on insignias on it, as I think would be fitting for Caine's pet jack. Beyond that I'm just going to let the pictures tell the amusing story of this sweet sweet sculpt.

Gun Mages (new style)

This is my third (and final) set of Gun Mages. I would never have painted a 3rd set, but there were 3 compelling reasons. First, this is the new sculpt of the models, which I do like better. Second, I needed a set that matched my Cygnar color scheme as both previous sets were painted to be used as mercs with Ashlynn. And third, they came with the Cygnar all-in-one box, so I had them anyway. So now they are speed painted and done!

Captain Allister Caine

This model was a bit of a challenge to get put together, but painting was overall quite easy. The pose is lovely and despite being meant for the custom base, I found that it did fine on a flat generic base. Not a whole lot more to say on this one overall though. I'm almost out of Cygnar warcasters to paint a this point.

Captain Kara Sloan

Nothing fancy to say on this one. Closes out another Cygnar caster for my collection.

Black 13th Gun Mage Strike Team

Ok, these weren't as bad as I was expecting them to be. In fact they were actually kind of pleasant to paint once they were assembled. The sculpted detail is pretty crisp and easy to pick out.
